Manual VistaTask

VistaTask is an automation application that can control every aspect of your computer. It controls tasks, programs, and other aspects such as the mouse, keyboard, and web actions, without needing to write any programming code. It is useful for performing many different types of jobs on your computer, and provides significant productivity gains in areas such as software quality assurance testing, repetitive data entry, or recurring internet tasks.
To install VistaTask, double-click on the downloaded file and following the installation wizard the will guide you throughout the set up process.

On the welcome screen, click next to continue with the installation process.
Now, accept the agreement by clicking Accept, and then Next to continue.

On the next screen you will need to specify the destination folder. We can either choose the default folder or browse a different path.

Before copying the files, the installation wizard will give you the option to create a desktop shortcut, in case you want to do so, enable the option and click Next to continue.
After the file copying process is finished, you can tick the option Launch vTask Studio Now allowing you to run the application after the set up has finished. Click Finish to continue.

The first time we run Vista Task, it will ask us, what we action we want to perform, thus enabling us to: create a new action file, open a file previously created, or else showing us an example by loading a file included in Vista Task to showcase its features.

By clicking on Create New Empty File we can create a new sequence of tasks. To our left we have a list with all the available tasks previously sorted by characteristics a in a tree view. To add a task to a process, drag a task from the left window into the right one.

With a small example we will show you next a sequence of three processes, in this case we will deal with internet processes.

To carry out this process, select from the task tree one activity (Start Browser for instance) and drag it into the list; thus opening a web browser window. Then, drag the Ping IP Address to the list, which will ran next to Start Browser and will ping the IP address we selected. Finally, drag Start Email -which will open our default email client. In order to check that our sequence is working properly, press the green arrow button located on the top side of the screen or else press F5.

On the lower left corner there a window called Output which will indicate the steps ran and the state of each of them.

To save the task Schedule together with this settings, go to File > Save, name it and save it.
